UPDATED: DENSE FOG RESULTS IN RED FUNNEL FERRY SUSPENSION

The new working week has got off to a bad start for those heading across the Solent, with Red Funnel suspending its vehicle ferry service due to dense fog.

The cross-Solent operator says that visibility is currently below operating limits, which are imposed by Cowes Harbour.

As a result, the vehicle ferry service between East Cowes and Southampton has been suspended until further notice.

The hi-speed Red Jet service is operating as normal.

Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience caused and will provide further updates as soon as conditions improve and services can safely resume.
