PROP REPAIR DELAYS LEAD TO REVISED WIGHTLINK TIMETABLE FOR THURSDAY
Wightlink has said that its Fishbourne-Portsmouth route will operate on a reduced 2-boat timetable tomorrow (Thursday) following delays to repair work on St Clare.
The cross-Solent operator says the planned installation of a new propeller on the vessel has taken longer than expected after issues were encountered during the work.
As a result, several sailings on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route have been adjusted and some customer bookings have been moved to alternative departures.
Wightlink says all affected customers have been contacted directly with details of their amended sailing times.
A spokesperson for Wightlink has said:
“The planned installation of a new propeller on St Clare is taking longer than expected to complete due to encountering some issues.
“As a result, we will operate a two-boat timetable on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route tomorrow.
“We apologise for the disruption to travel plans and thank customers for their patience while this essential work is completed.”
St Clare is expected to return to Portsmouth overnight, with final repairs and testing due to take place on Thursday ahead of a planned return to service on Friday (22nd May).
