CREW SICKNESS FORCES WIGHTLINK TO AXE BANK-HOLIDAY SAILINGS

Bank holiday travel plans have been disrupted after Wightlink cancelled several crossings on its Yarmouth to Lymington route owing to ‘unexpected crew sickness’.

The cross-Solent operator confirmed a number of last-minute cancellations just after midday.

In disruption to those heading to and from the Island, the 18:00 and 20:00 sailings from Lymington, along with the 19:05 and 21:05 crossings from Yarmouth, have been cancelled.

A Wightlink spokesperson has said:

“All booked customers have been contacted and moved onto alternative sailings, where possible”.

Services on other cross-Solent routes are running to timetable, currently.
