Ten Isle of Wight ferry sailings on Red Funnel cancelled
Isle of Wight ferry operator Red Funnel has confirmed ten sailings have been cancelled throughout Friday (June 27).
The cross-Solent ferry provider has confirmed multiple ferry cancellations due to ongoing issues with propulsion equipment.
Passengers travelling on the vehicle ferry between East Cowes and Southampton will be affected by the cancellations on both sides of the Solent.
The vehicle ferry service will see the following timetabled sailing cancelled:
- 6.30am, 9.30am, 12.30pm, 3.30pm and 6.30pm from East Cowes
- 5am, 8am, 11am, 2pm and 5pm from Southampton
According to Red Funnel, these cancellations are due to âplanned maintenanceâ following the continuation of the same technical issue that disrupted services on Thursday evening (July 26).
The earlier cancellations were attributed to âunplanned maintenanceâ to propulsion equipment.
A spokesperson for Red Funnel apologised for the disruption, stating: âWe apologise for any inconvenience caused.â
Passengers are advised to check the Red Funnel service status page before travelling.
