UPDATED: HOVERTRAVEL’S SATURDAY SERVICES SUSPENDED AS TECHNICAL ISSUE HITS SOLENT FLYER
Hovertravel’s cross-Solent service between Ryde and Southsea has been suspended this morning (Saturday) not due to the weather, but owing to a technical issue.
With Island Flyer still out of service for maintenance in Portchester, the entire operation is reliant on Solent Flyer.
However, an undisclosed technical issue has arisen with the only craft available for service, meaning all flights have now been suspended until further notice.
The same happened last Sunday, as previously reported by Island Echo.
An update is expected at 10:00, suggesting that the issue may be resolved shortly.
In the meantime, tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service to and from Ryde Pier Head.
UPDATE – Services have resumed as of 11:15.
