NEW YARMOUTH-LYMINGTON FERRY SERVICE TO LAUNCH NEXT WEEK

A new passenger ferry service is set to begin operations between Yarmouth and Lymington next week, it has been announced.

Quay 2 Quay, in conjunction with the Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners and Lymington Harbour Commissioners, will run a foot passenger service across the Western Solent from Thursday (2nd October).

By starting this service between Yarmouth Harbour and Lymington Town Quay, the company intends to offer greater capacity and customer choice across the route, together with an improved overall customer experience. This will be accomplished using a state-of-the-art 15m catamaran passenger boat called ‘KRAKEN’ with both enclosed and open accommodation and capacity for over 100 passengers, together with the provision of onboard refreshments.

Initially, 3 sailings will be offered in each direction every day between Monday and Friday, moving to a full service over the coming months.

Tickets are being advertised at £14 for an adult single, £20 for a 7-day return or £24 for a 3-month period return. Child tickets are half price (aged 5-15), with discounts available for students and seniors.

“As someone who lives close to Lymington it became clear to me that there is a real need in the area for an alternative ferry service crossing.

“This is a very exciting opportunity, we have worked tirelessly on this to get the service right, and it is a real credit to the Commissioners of both Yarmouth and Lymington and all those involved to have achieved what we have in a short space of time.

“We now look forward to the service beginning operations and providing additional passenger choice.”
