RED JET SERVICES OPERATING EVERY 70 MINUTES UNDER TEMPORARY NOVEMBER TIMETABLE
A revised temporary timetable is now in place for Red Funnel’s Red Jet service between Southampton and West Cowes, running until Sunday 30th November.
The hi-speed service is currently only operating every 70 minutes throughout the day, with no additional sailings at peak times.
The reduced frequency forms part of Red Funnel’s winter schedule, allowing essential maintenance and statutory survey work to be carried out on vessels as part of their annual refit programme. This work is designed to ensure the ongoing reliability and resilience of the high-speed passenger service.
Passengers are being advised that bike rack space on board may be in higher demand while this revised timetable is in effect. Customers are encouraged to travel with fold-up bikes where possible, as these can be safely stowed in the luggage racks. Bikes should be folded before boarding.
For those travelling with regular bicycles, additional storage may be available if bike racks are full, but passengers are asked to bear with the crew and shoreside teams as they manage capacity.
Red Funnel is also recommending the use of its Vehicle Ferry service as an alternative option, which offers significantly greater space for standard bikes.
A spokesperson has said:
“We always to limit the impact of these works on our customers, and schedule them when demand is lower.
“However, we recognise these changes can still impact many of you and apologise for any inconvenience caused. All the works undertaken supports improving the reliability and resilience of our services, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”
