UPDATED: COMMUTERS HIT BY HOVERTRAVEL SERVICE SUSPENSION AMID TECHNICAL WOES
Hovertravel has been forced to suspend its cross-Solent service this morning (Friday) due to a technical issue, with both of its Flyer craft out of service.
The 07:15 from Ryde to Southsea has failed to operate, with all crossings expected to be cancelled until at least 08:00, when an update will be provided.
A technical issue with Solent Flyer has been blamed for the disruption, which is hitting commuters particularly hard. However, tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service between Ryde Pier Head-Portsmouth Harbour.
Hovertravel’s Island Flyer – the second craft in the fleet – is not available for operations
